procrastinating leads to summer update

So in my attempts to put off homework
for just a bit longer and to waste the time until my laundry dries,
i thought i would finally update you on my summer.
which i promised to do months ago, sorry.
so, remember that list of plans i made for the summer?
well most of that stuff didn't happen. haha
but it was still good.
i worked at camp for two months.
it was hard and discouraging at points, but so much
fun and completely rewarding.
i was a cabin counselor for high school girls,
then middle school girls, then 5th and 6th grade girls.
and i taught nature to boy and girls.
and to myself, haha, because i didn't know too
many details or facts about it until this summer.
i made a fool of myself singing crazy songs and
reading bedtime stories (and writing them!)
i had plenty of campfires, cookouts, and hikes.
and i led a lot of devo's and bible studies and answered
some tough questions from girls about God.
on the weekends, i worked at darien lake at the concerts
they had there, serving food and drinks to vip guests.
it was fun, i made good tips some nights, and basically
got paid to go to concerts.
i rearranged my room and completely cleaned it out.
it looks nicer now, more grown up. :)
i got a futon and put a little desk in there.
me and therese applied to adopt a dog.
were still in the process of that and it's exciting
to think we could have a new cute dog sometime in the future.
i visited my new baby cousin, he's soooo cute.
i took the membership class at my church, so now when i
want to be a member i just have to apply and meet with the elders.
it's weird to be a part of two churches at once, so i think i'll wait until
after college to officially be a member if i end up living there.
not being a member isn't keeping me from anything and i don't
want to just become a member if i'm not able to invest or serve
within the church at all.
hmm, i think that's pretty much it.
i stayed up late, slept in a lot, read almost the whole twlight series,
turned 19, caught up with friends, had bonfires, spent
time with the family, and cooked a lot. i miss not
having a kitchen while i'm at school. i got to try a lot of new recipies
over the summer. and i spent lots of time with my bff and seester.
it was a pretty good summer. :)
now your all caught up!
always love,
h
